Patient Feedback

We understand that patients do not always know how to get in touch with our volunteer doctors and paramedics to say thank you, so we hope that you will find this an easy and beneficial way to make contact.

Real life stories are the most effective way to promote the service and raise awareness of SARS but we cannot publicise patient information without permission. So, if you are willing for us to use your story on our website or other promotional materials please let us know on this form.

A volunteer SARS doctor was mobilised to attend Otis, a young baby who had developed a life-threatening respiratory condition. The SARS doctor and EEAST paramedics provided immediate treatment to enable Otis to breathe. Otis was then transferred to a waiting ambulance. The SARS doctor accompanied him on the journey to hospital and helped manage his airway until he was handed over to the paediatric team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. We are pleased to say that after five days of hospital care, Otis had recovered sufficiently to allow him to return home to his family.

“The SARS doctor was amazing and we felt in very safe hands. Otis has made an amazing recovery and is doing really well”, said Natalie, Otis’s mother.

"I think its amazing this is all volunteer work and that it funded by a charity. You hope to never need medical help, however the service from SARS was fantastic!"

"I don't remember much about the incident, other than the immense pain. What does stick in my mind was the presence of (SARS) CCP Andy when he came in. Calm, collected and very focused, he took control of the situation straight away in a very professional manner. Thank you so much."

"This is just to update you on my husband's progress following your teams attendance on the evening of his cardiac arrest. I am really pleased to tell you that he is now home. We would really like to thank you once again for what you did for us on that evening. Your team were great. Words cannot express our appreciation."

"It's a scary thing being involved in a car crash, let alone being knocked out and coming around to chaos around you. But that fear did not last long with a quick response and some excellent medical attention from the SARS team. Thank You!"

"I would like to thank the team that attended my road accident and helped me. I was most grateful for the treatment I received by SARS. It was quite reassuring that i was getting the best treatment and help."

"I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone involved who helped me after my crash. I'm pretty sure I would not be here without you. I was somewhat amazed to find that you were all volunteers that are willing to give up your free time to do such a wonderful thing."
